23. December - Christmas Song

Only one day left to Christmas Eve!

One of the most popular and famous Christmas songs brings you for sure in the right mood...
Rudolph the Red Noise Reindeer: This classical Christmas song was originally born as a short story by Robert L. May when he worked for Macy's department store. The story was soon turned into a song, and then the first recording was made in 1949 by Gene Autry.

The popularity of the song is rooted in its message that it's not only okay to be different, but that being different may in fact be better. We hear how Rudolph was teased as a young deer because of his blaring red nose, but in the end, was celebrated as a hero. The story and the tune resonate decades after it was produced.

So now let's start singing together...

You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen,
Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen.,
But do you recall?
The most famous reindeer of all?
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Had a very shiny nose, like a light bulb,
And if you ever saw it,
You would even say it glows, like a light bulb.
All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names, like pinocheoh;
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games, like monopoly.
Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa came to say, ho ho ho,
Rudolph with your nose so bright,
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?
Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee, yipe,
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,
You'll go down in history, like michael jackson.

(musical interlude)

Had a very shiny nose, like a light bulb
And if you ever saw it,
You would even say it glows, like a light bulb,
All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names, like pinocheo;

They never let poor Rudolph

Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
