our High streets - aren’t they beautiful? Slowly but steady the Christmas

Ice-skating rinks pop up in London between November to January!
I
make at least one trip each year with my children to one of them. It’s a beautiful
ambiance on and around them and a great trip out on a dark cold day. I have
taken my children from a very young age – skates on, warm gloves and a
protective helmet is all they need. In Sweden we ice skate on the local lakes,
which can be quite bumpy, but most UK cities have several great well maintained
ice rinks on offer. The 3 most popular ice ranks in London are:
Natural History Museum
It has
a Christmas tree at its center and a smaller rink for children. On the rink
side is a fairground with a carousel and a balcony café bar as well. Enjoy
looking at your little ones skating on the ice with a hot chocolate or mulled

Somerset House ice rink
Somerset
House provides one of the more grown-up ice-skating experiences.
Though
the Somerset Penguin Club offers courses for our little newcomers aged less
than 8 years. There is a Tom’s Skate Lounge café & bar from where you can
overlook the ice.
Winter Wonderland ice rink
The
Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park is especially popular with families. It is
surrounded by countless fairground rides, carousels, Christmas market, festive
food stalls etc. Moreover it is illuminated by over 100 000 lights.
